Sugar Supreme Powernudge slot by Pragmatic Play — game artwork

The Sugar Supreme Powernudge demo is the free, no-signup version of Pragmatic Play’s 2023 cluster game, and its interest is almost entirely in one mechanic. Powernudge drops winning reels down a position and leaves a multiplier behind on every winning spot, climbing by one each time that spot wins again. In the base game it fires at random and rarely. In free spins it fires on every single winning combination, and the multipliers stay put for the whole round. That gap between the two halves is the game.

Pragmatic Play · Part of Pragmatic’s long-running sugar and sweets line, which also includes Sweet Bonanza, Sugar Rush and Sweet Loot — all three reviewed on this site. The theme is shared; the maths is not, and figures do not transfer between them.

The Sugar Supreme Powernudge demo runs the real game on play credits: the same 6×6 grid, the same 96.09% maths, the same multiplier rules. Nothing is simplified.

There is a specific reason to use the demo on this title rather than just reading about it. The base game and the bonus round behave so differently that a description of one tells you almost nothing about the other, and the base-game Powernudge trigger is, by most accounts, elusive. A few minutes of free play is the cheapest way to find out whether the quiet stretches between triggers are something you are happy to sit through.

Sugar Supreme Powernudge slot at a glance

ProviderPragmatic PlayPragmatic Play publishes a game page for this title, and the 96.09% RTP, the 6×6 cluster grid and the Powernudge mechanic all come from it. The studio does not publish a volatility rating or a maximum win multiplier, and both of those figures are disputed between the sites that do. This page prints the disagreement instead of resolving it.

VolatilityDisputed — High (most sources) · Medium (Fruityslots header, Slottomat)

Top line pay5,000× bet (third-party consensus)This is the sharpest disagreement on the page. Every independent database we checked gives 5,000×. Pragmatic’s own game page states no maximum win at all — the only multiplier it prints is that “a maximum cluster of over 15 symbols will pay out a win worth up to 100 times the original bet”, which is a single-cluster payout, not a cap on the game. Those two numbers are not in conflict, they are answers to different questions, and they are regularly quoted as though they were the same thing.
JackpotNone — no jackpotNo jackpot, fixed or progressive. Everything the game pays comes from cluster payouts multiplied by whatever Powernudge multipliers have accumulated on those positions.

More on the figures above. The 96.09% RTP, the 6×6 cluster grid, the five-symbol minimum cluster, the Powernudge multiplier rules and the free-spins trigger and retrigger all come from Pragmatic Play’s own game page. The 5,000× ceiling, the 0.20 to 240 stake range, the 100× bonus buy at 96.08% and the 2 November 2023 release date come from Fruityslots and are corroborated in part elsewhere. The volatility rating is disputed and both readings are shown. The archive comparisons are computed from the 50 Pragmatic Play reviews published on this site.

How the game plays

Wins are clusters, not lines. Five or more identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the 6×6 grid pay out, and position does not matter beyond the connection. There are no wild symbols at all, which is unusual and means every cluster has to be built from the real thing.

Powernudge is what sits on top. When a winning cluster lands, the feature may trigger: every reel containing at least one winning symbol is nudged down by one position, a new symbol drops in at the top, and the grid pays again for anything new that forms. The nudging repeats as long as new wins keep appearing.

The part that matters is what gets left behind. Each winning position picks up a multiplier starting at x1 and increasing by +1 every time a winning symbol lands on that spot again. Wins on marked positions are multiplied by the combined total of the multipliers involved. In the base game those marks clear. In free spins they do not.

The story behind the game

Sugar Supreme Powernudge arrived in 2023. Fruityslots dates it 2 November 2023; AboutSlots carries a page dated 25 August 2023, which would place it earlier. We have not been able to settle which is right, so the year is stated and the month is not.

It belongs to Pragmatic’s sweets line, alongside Sweet Bonanza, Sugar Rush and Sweet Loot — all three of which are reviewed on this site. The shared theme is genuinely only a theme: Sweet Bonanza pays on scattered symbols anywhere, Sugar Rush builds multiplier spots on a 7×7 grid, and this one nudges reels and stacks multipliers on a 6×6. Three different machines wearing the same sweets.

The two numbers to read together are the 100× and the 5,000×. The first is the studio’s own, and it describes what the biggest possible single cluster pays. The second is every database’s, and it describes the game’s ceiling. Reaching the ceiling therefore cannot be done with one cluster — it needs a free-spins round where persistent multipliers have been stacked high enough to turn ordinary clusters into very large ones.

Bonus features and free spins

⬇

Powernudge — the nudge itself

When a winning cluster lands, reels containing at least one winning symbol are nudged down a position and a fresh symbol enters at the top. Anything new that forms pays, and the nudge can repeat. On its own this is a respins mechanic; what makes it matter is what it leaves behind.

✖

Multipliers that climb on the spot

Every winning position is marked with a multiplier that begins at x1 and rises by +1 each time a winning symbol lands there again. Wins involving marked positions are multiplied by the combined total. A position that keeps winning becomes progressively more valuable, which rewards clusters that form in the same region of the grid.

🍬

Free spins, where the mechanic changes character

Three, four, five or six scatters award 10, 12, 15 or 20 free spins. Inside the round, Powernudge triggers on every winning combination rather than at random, and — critically — the accumulated multipliers persist for the whole round instead of clearing. This is where the game’s top end lives, and essentially nowhere else.

🔄

Retriggers that extend the build

Landing three or more scatters during the bonus awards another 10 free spins. Because the multipliers do not reset, a retrigger is worth considerably more than the ten spins it looks like — it extends a round whose positions may already be carrying substantial multipliers.

💳

Bonus buy at 100×, and a hundredth of a point cheaper

Free spins can be bought for 100× your stake, at a bonus-buy RTP of 96.08% against the base game’s 96.09%. That is a difference of one hundredth of a point — genuinely negligible, and more honest than many buy options. It is not available to UK players.

What we like

  • The free-spins round is a real transformation, not a longer version of the base game. Powernudge on every win plus persistent multipliers is a different machine.
  • The bonus buy costs almost nothing in return — 96.08% against 96.09% is a hundredth of a point, where many studios charge half a point or more for the shortcut.
  • Multipliers that build on fixed positions give the round a geography: you can watch specific squares become valuable, which is more legible than a pooled multiplier total.
  • The studio publishes its own specification page, so the RTP, the grid, the cluster rule and the multiplier mechanics are first-hand rather than inferred.
  • Retriggers compound properly, because they extend a round whose multipliers have already been built rather than starting a fresh one.
  • A 0.20 entry stake keeps the low end accessible on a game that asks you to sit through quiet base-game stretches.
What to watch

  • 96.09% is the lowest RTP of the four sugar-themed Pragmatic games on this site, and not by a trivial margin — see the comparison below.
  • The base-game Powernudge trigger is random and, by most accounts, infrequent. Long stretches can pass where the game’s defining mechanic simply does not appear.
  • There are no wilds, so there is nothing helping clusters form. Every winning cluster has to be built entirely from matching symbols.
  • The volatility rating is genuinely unresolved. Most sources say high, two say medium, one contradicts itself within a single page, and the studio says nothing.
  • The 5,000× ceiling is not the studio’s figure. Pragmatic publishes no maximum win for this game at all, and the 100× number on its own page is frequently misquoted as one.
  • The bonus buy is unavailable in the UK, which removes the most reliable route to the part of the game worth playing for UK players.

How Sugar Supreme Powernudge compares

How it sits against the other sugar and sweets titles from Pragmatic Play reviewed on this site, using our own published figures.

GameRTPVolatilityMax winLayout
Sugar Supreme Powernudge96.09%Disputed — high or medium5,000×6 × 6 cluster
Sweet Loot96.53%Medium5,000×Cluster
Sugar Rush96.50%High (5/5)5,000×7 × 7 cluster
Sweet Bonanza96.48%Medium-high, no official rating5,000×6 × 5 scatter pays

Lined up against its own family, this game is the outlier in exactly one respect, and it is the one that costs money. All four reach the same 5,000× ceiling. Three of them return between 96.48% and 96.53%. This one returns 96.09% — 0.39 of a point below the next lowest and 0.44 below Sweet Loot at the top. Across the sweets line, in other words, you are being offered the same top end for a slightly worse deal. That does not make Powernudge a bad mechanic, and the persistent-multiplier bonus is arguably the most interesting of the four rounds. But if the thing that attracts you is the sugar theme rather than this specific feature, three cheaper ways into it are already reviewed on this site.

Sugar Supreme Powernudge RTP, volatility and max win

Sugar Supreme Powernudge is published at more than one RTP. Pragmatic’s own page lists 96.09% and nothing else. The 96.08% bonus-buy figure comes from Fruityslots and is a sensible, tiny variation of the sort studios routinely publish. The 95.05% and 94.02% builds appear in one source only (Online-slot.co.uk) and are not corroborated anywhere else we looked, including the studio’s own page — so treat them as a flag to check your operator’s information screen, not as established fact.

96.09%the default, and the figure on Pragmatic’s own game page
96.08%the bonus buy build, a hundredth of a point lower
95.05%a reduced build, one source only
94.02%a further reduced build, one source only

Pragmatic Play’s own game page gives 96.09%, and that is the figure to work from. It sits a little below the industry average and, more usefully, below every other sugar-themed Pragmatic title in our archive: Sweet Loot 96.53%, Sugar Rush 96.50%, Sweet Bonanza 96.48%.

Two variations are worth knowing about. The bonus buy runs at 96.08% — one hundredth of a point below the base game, which is as close to free as a buy option gets, and notably better value than the half-point and full-point penalties some studios attach. Then there is a single source listing reduced builds at 95.05% and 94.02%. We could not corroborate those anywhere, and they do not appear on the studio’s page. They are recorded here because a reduced build is the kind of thing worth checking for, not because we can confirm they exist. The information screen inside your own client is the only figure that applies to your session.

Where the RTP actually goes is the more interesting question. With no wilds, a random and infrequent base-game trigger, and a bonus round that multiplies positions persistently, the return is heavily weighted towards the free spins. A long base-game stretch is not bad luck on this game so much as the design working as intended: the money is being held back for the round where Powernudge fires on everything.

Bets, bankroll and session planning

Stakes run from 0.20 to 240 per spin, which covers casual play through to high stakes from the same screen. The 100× bonus buy therefore costs between 20 and 24,000 depending on where you sit in that range — worth working out before using it, since at the low end it is a modest sum and at the top end it is not. The buy is not offered to UK players.

Playing on mobile

The 6×6 grid is compact and reads cleanly in portrait, which matters on a cluster game where you need to see connections across the whole board at once. The multiplier marks sit on individual positions and stay legible at phone size. Free spins, where several positions may be carrying different multipliers simultaneously, is the one moment where a larger screen genuinely helps.

Five things to know before you spin

  1. Open the information screen before you spin. One source lists reduced builds at 95.05% and 94.02% that we could not corroborate; that screen is the only figure that governs your session.
  2. Judge this game on the bonus round, not the base game. Powernudge fires on every win in free spins and the multipliers persist — the base game is the waiting room, not the attraction.
  3. Watch where the multipliers build, not just how high. Because they sit on fixed positions, clusters that keep forming in the same region compound far faster than scattered wins of the same size.
  4. If you use the bonus buy, work out the cash cost first. 100× is 20 at the minimum stake and 24,000 at the maximum, and the headline multiplier hides that spread.
  5. Do not read the studio’s 100× as a maximum win. It describes the biggest single cluster payout. The game’s ceiling, per every database, is 5,000×.
  6. Expect no help from wilds, because there are none. Every cluster is built from genuine matching symbols, which makes the quiet stretches quieter than on a comparable game with substitutions.

Who this slot is for

Players who like cluster games and specifically want a bonus round that builds something over its whole length rather than resolving spin by spin. The persistent multipliers give free spins a genuine arc, and the near-free bonus buy makes reaching it cheap in RTP terms. It is a weaker fit for anyone who wants a lively base game — without wilds and with a random, infrequent trigger, the stretches between features are quiet — and for UK players, who cannot buy the round that makes the game worth playing.

Sugar Supreme Powernudge demo and slot FAQ

Can I play the Sugar Supreme Powernudge demo for free?
Yes. The demo on this page runs the full game on play credits — the same 6×6 grid, the same 96.09% RTP and the same Powernudge rules as the real-money version. No signup, no deposit, no account.
What is the RTP of Sugar Supreme Powernudge?
96.09%, according to Pragmatic Play’s own game page. The bonus buy runs at 96.08%. One source also lists reduced builds at 95.05% and 94.02%, which we could not corroborate anywhere else — check the in-game information screen for the figure that applies to you.
How does the Powernudge feature work?
When a winning cluster lands, reels containing a winning symbol nudge down one position and a new symbol enters at the top, paying again for anything new. Every winning position is marked with a multiplier starting at x1 that rises by +1 each time that position wins again.
What is the difference between the base game and free spins?
It is substantial. In the base game Powernudge triggers at random and the multipliers clear. In free spins it triggers on every winning combination and the multipliers persist for the whole round. Almost all of the game’s top end lives in the bonus.
What is the maximum win?
Every independent database gives 5,000× your stake. Pragmatic Play publishes no maximum win for this game. The 100× figure on the studio’s own page describes the biggest single cluster payout, not the game’s ceiling, and the two are often confused.
Is Sugar Supreme Powernudge high volatility?
Sources disagree and the studio publishes no rating. Most independent sites say high; Slottomat and the header on Fruityslots say medium, with Fruityslots contradicting itself within the same page. The structure — no wilds, infrequent base-game trigger, top end concentrated in the bonus — reads as high, but that is our reading, not a published figure.
Can I buy the free spins?
Yes, for 100× your stake, at a bonus-buy RTP of 96.08% against 96.09% in the base game. That is unusually good value as buy options go. It is not available to players in the United Kingdom.
Are there wild symbols?
No. The game has no wilds at all, so every winning cluster must be formed from genuine matching symbols with no substitutions helping.

Our verdict on Sugar Supreme Powernudge

7.6/ 10

An excellent bonus round attached to the worst RTP in its own family

Sugar Supreme Powernudge does one thing better than its siblings and one thing worse, and both are easy to state. The better thing is the free-spins round: Powernudge firing on every win, with multipliers that stay on their positions for the whole round, gives the bonus a genuine shape that builds. Watching specific squares become progressively more valuable is more legible and more involving than a pooled multiplier total, and the near-free bonus buy at 96.08% makes getting there cheap in the terms that matter.

The worse thing is the headline number. At 96.09% this is the lowest-returning sugar game in our Pragmatic archive, 0.44 of a point below Sweet Loot and about four tenths below Sugar Rush and Sweet Bonanza — and all four stop at the same 5,000×. Same ceiling, worse deal. If the sweets theme is what brought you, the site has three cheaper doors into it.

Two things we have not resolved and are not going to pretend about. The volatility rating is contested, with most sources saying high, two saying medium, and one page disagreeing with itself; the studio publishes nothing. And the 5,000× ceiling is a third-party consensus, not a Pragmatic figure — the only multiplier on the studio’s own page is the 100× top cluster, which is a different measurement entirely and is widely misquoted as a maximum win.

Worth playing the demo for the bonus round specifically. If the base game’s quiet stretches put you off before you reach it, that tells you what you need to know, and it costs nothing to find out.
