The Sweet Bonanza demo is the free, no-signup version of the slot that reshaped the last decade of this industry — Pragmatic Play’s June 2019 release, a 6×5 grid of fruit and candy where eight or more matching symbols anywhere pay and the winners tumble away. Pragmatic publishes 96.48%, multipliers run from 2x to 100x inside the free spins, and SlotCatalog records a ceiling of 21,100× your total bet. Play it free here, then read the RTP section: this game has certified builds nobody publishes.

Play the Sweet Bonanza demo free
The Sweet Bonanza demo runs the real game on play money — the same tumbles, the same scatters, the same multiplier bombs. No download, no account, no deposit.
There is a specific reason to spend time here rather than assume you know this game. Almost everyone has played something that copies it; far fewer have played the original recently. The base game is thinner than the clones — no ante bet mechanic on the reels, no second-screen anything — and the multipliers only exist inside the free spins. Forty minutes of the demo will tell you whether the thing you actually enjoy is Sweet Bonanza or one of the games built on top of it.

Sweet Bonanza slot at a glance
How the game plays
Sweet Bonanza is a six-reel, five-row slot with no paylines. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid form a win, those symbols are removed, and new ones drop into the gaps. The tumble repeats until a drop produces nothing new. That is the whole base game.
Every value in the paytable is a multiple of your total bet, not a line bet — there are no lines to divide by. On a pay-anywhere grid that distinction matters more than usual, because the numbers look small until you realise they multiply the whole stake. Eight bananas pay 0.25× the bet; twelve red candies pay 50×.
The paytable is banded by count: 8–9 symbols, 10–11, and 12 or more. The jump from the middle band to the top is where the game lives. Purple candy pays 2.5× for eight, 10× for ten, and 25× for twelve — a tenfold move for four extra symbols. Red candy, the premium, goes 10× / 25× / 50×.
Four to six scatters anywhere trigger the bonus: 10 free spins, and the scatters themselves pay up to 100× the bet on the way in. That is where the game changes character. Multiplier symbols with values between 2x and 100x can land on any spin of the feature, and at the end of each tumbling sequence every multiplier in view has its value added to the others and applied to that sequence’s win. They add; they do not multiply each other. Three 50x symbols make 150x, not 125,000x.
Outside the free spins there are no multipliers at all. That is the single most important structural fact about this game and the thing most of its imitators changed.
The story behind the game
Sweet Bonanza arrived on 27 June 2019 and became the most copied slot of the following decade. Pay-anywhere grids existed before it. Tumbling reels existed before it. Free-floating multiplier symbols existed before it. What did not exist was all three combined with presentation confident enough that half the industry rebuilt the idea under different art.
Pragmatic itself has rebuilt it repeatedly. Sweet Bonanza 1000 raised the multiplier cap. Sweet Bonanza Xmas reskinned it. Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter arrived in July 2025 with a 50,000× ceiling and a maximum-win probability BigWinBoard puts at 1 in 833 million. Sugar Rush, reviewed on this site, took the same studio’s cluster-pays engine in a parallel direction.
And the formula travelled far beyond Pragmatic. Gates of Olympus, from the same studio two years later, is the same engine with Greek gods instead of fruit — and it in turn spawned its own family, including the 2026 Gates of Olympus 2500.
What has aged well is the restraint. Sweet Bonanza has one bonus round, one multiplier mechanic and a paytable you can read in thirty seconds. Later games in the lineage carry four free spins modes behind a wheel, five special bets and four feature buys. Whether that is progress is a matter of taste, and the demo above settles it faster than an argument does.
Symbols and paytable
Every value is a multiple of the total bet, banded by how many symbols land: 8–9, 10–11, or 12 and above. This is SlotCatalog’s published paytable in full.
| Red candy — the premium | 10× the bet for eight or nine, 25× for ten or eleven, 50× for twelve or more. Double the next symbol at every band. |
|---|---|
| Purple candy | 2.5× / 10× / 25×. The widest spread in the paytable — ten times more for four extra symbols. |
| Green and blue candy | 2× / 5× / 15× and 1.5× / 2× / 12× across the three bands. |
| Apple, plum, watermelon | 1× / 1.5× / 10×, then 0.8× / 1.2× / 8×, then 0.5× / 1× / 5×. |
| Grapes and banana | 0.4× / 0.9× / 4× and 0.25× / 0.75× / 2×. Eight bananas return a quarter of your stake. |
| Scatters | Four to six scatters award 10 free spins and pay up to 100× the bet on the trigger itself, per Pragmatic’s own page. |
| Multiplier symbols — 2x to 100x | Free spins only. All multipliers in view at the end of a tumble sequence are added together and applied to that sequence’s win. |
| Bet range and build | 0.20 to 100 a spin per SlotCatalog. JavaScript and HTML5, 20.8 MB — the lightest build of any game we have measured. |
What is not here: a wild, a gamble, a second screen, a jackpot, or any multiplier in the base game. The absence of a wild is deliberate on a pay-anywhere grid — with no lines to complete, a wild has nothing to do.
Bonus features and free spins
Tumbles, and nothing else in the base game
Eight or more matching symbols anywhere pay, vanish, and are replaced. The sequence repeats until a drop produces no win. That is the entire base game — no multipliers, no modifiers, no wild.
Multipliers from 2x to 100x — free spins only
The mechanic the whole format is built on, and it exists nowhere except inside the bonus. Every multiplier in view when a tumble sequence ends is added to the rest and applied to that win. Additive, not multiplicative.
Scatters that pay on the way in
Four to six scatters award 10 free spins and pay up to 100× the bet as a win in their own right. On a game with no base-game multipliers, the scatter pay is a meaningful part of the return.
21,100×, and a 100x cap
The ceiling SlotCatalog records is 21,100× the total bet. The multiplier cap is 100x. Those are different numbers doing different jobs — reaching the ceiling needs a long tumble sequence carrying several multipliers, not one large symbol.
20.8 MB
The lightest slot build we have measured, against 190 MB for Gates of Olympus 2500 and 111 MB for Eternal Diamonds. A 2019 game carrying a fraction of the download of its own descendants.
- One bonus round, one mechanic, a paytable readable in thirty seconds — the clarity its own sequels gave up.
- A 21,100× ceiling on a game with a 100x multiplier cap, which means long tumble sequences matter more than single lucky symbols.
- 20.8 MB. It loads on a weak connection while its descendants are still downloading.
- Scatters pay up to 100× the bet on the trigger, so reaching the bonus is worth something before the bonus starts.
- Pragmatic publishes the RTP on its own game page, which is more than it does for parts of the catalogue.
- Certified RTP builds exist and nobody publishes the figures — SlotCatalog flags the ranges without listing them. You cannot know what you are playing without opening the information screen.
- No multipliers in the base game at all. Without a bonus trigger, a session is fruit symbols and nothing else.
- Pragmatic publishes no hit frequency and no maximum-win probability for this title, so there is no honest way to say how far away 21,100× actually is.
- Seven years old and copied to exhaustion — a great deal of what made it feel fresh in 2019 is now the industry default.
- The two sources disagree on the headline RTP: 96.48% on the studio’s page, 96.51% at SlotCatalog.
How Sweet Bonanza compares
Sweet Bonanza’s own descendants show what seven years of iteration did to the format. All figures from BigWinBoard except where marked:
| Game | Released | Grid | Max win | Multiplier cap | Volatility |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sweet Bonanza | Jun 2019 | 6 × 5 pay anywhere | 21,100× | 100x | Med-high |
| Sugar Rush | Jun 2022 | 7 reels, cluster pays | 5,000× | 128x | High (5/5) |
| Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter | Jul 2025 | 6 reels, scatter pays | 50,000× | not published | High |
| Gates of Olympus 2500 | Sep 2026 | 6 × 5 pay anywhere | 25,000× | 2,500x | High |
The direction of travel is obvious and it is not all upward. Multiplier caps went from 100x to 2,500x, and ceilings from 21,100× to 50,000× — but Super Scatter prices its 50,000× at 1 in 833,333,333 spins on BigWinBoard’s figures, which is not a number any player should organise a session around. Sugar Rush went the other way: a lower 5,000× ceiling at 1 in 2,340,000, forty times nearer.
Sweet Bonanza sits in a gap the later games left behind. It has the biggest ceiling of anything here except Super Scatter, the smallest multiplier cap, and the simplest rules. Nobody publishes its max-win probability, so we cannot place it on that scale honestly — but the shape of the maths says the ceiling comes from long sequences rather than rare giant symbols, and long sequences are something you can actually watch happen in the demo.
Sweet Bonanza RTP, volatility and max win
Sweet Bonanza is published at more than one RTP. This is the one case in our Pragmatic coverage where we cannot list the alternative builds, because no source publishes them for this game. What is published is that they exist. Treat the 96.48% on the studio’s page as the best case and check the screen before you stake money.
| 96.51% | SlotCatalog’s recorded top build. Pragmatic’s own page prints 96.48% — three hundredths apart, and the gap is not the point. |
|---|---|
| Lower certified builds | SlotCatalog flags this title as having RTP ranges but does not publish the individual lower figures. The information screen inside the game is the only place yours is written. |
Pragmatic Play publishes 96.48% on its own game page. SlotCatalog records 96.51%. Three hundredths of a point is not worth a paragraph.
What is worth a paragraph is what neither of them says. SlotCatalog marks this game as having RTP ranges — multiple certified builds, with the casino choosing which to run — but unlike Gates of Olympus 2500, Sugar Rush or Freya 1000, it does not publish the lower figures. Neither does Pragmatic. BigWinBoard has no page for this title at all.
So on the single most played slot in Pragmatic’s catalogue, the honest position is this: alternative builds exist, and no public source will tell you what they are. On the studio’s other 2026 releases the spread between top and bottom build runs around two percentage points. If the same holds here, the difference between a good and a bad placement of this game is roughly two pounds per hundred staked — and the only place the answer is written is the information screen inside the game at your casino. Open it. On this title more than any other.
Volatility. SlotCatalog files it as medium-high, and Pragmatic publishes no rating. We are not going to invent one. The shape is unusual for a game of this reputation: the base game has no multipliers, so it runs flat and frequent, and all the variance is concentrated in a bonus that arrives at a rate nobody publishes.
Maximum win. 21,100× your total bet, per SlotCatalog. Pragmatic’s page states no maximum win — what it states is the 100x multiplier cap. Neither source publishes a probability for reaching the ceiling, so unlike our other Pragmatic reviews there is no honest figure to put next to it. We would rather say that than estimate one.
Bets, bankroll and session planning
The bet range is 0.20 to 100 a spin per SlotCatalog, and the figure you set is the total bet. Every paytable value, scatter pay and multiplier applies to it directly.
Session planning on this game is harder than on the studio’s newer titles for one specific reason: nobody publishes the free spins frequency. For Sugar Rush we can tell you 1 in 323 and for Gates of Olympus 2500 1 in 443. For Sweet Bonanza we cannot, and we are not going to borrow a number from a sibling game and present it as this one’s.
What we can say is structural. The base game carries no multipliers, so until the bonus arrives you are playing a plain tumbling slot where twelve red candies — a genuinely rare drop — pay 50×. The scatter pay of up to 100× on the trigger is the compensation. Plan for a game where the interesting part is gated behind a trigger of unknown frequency, and stake accordingly: lower than you would on a game whose bonus you can price.
Pragmatic’s standard ante bet and buy options are not documented for this title on either source we trust, which is another reason the demo above is worth the time — the interface at your casino will show you what is actually offered on the build they run.
Playing on mobile
The build is JavaScript and HTML5 at 20.8 MB per SlotCatalog. That is the lightest slot we have measured anywhere on this site, and it is a genuine advantage: a sixth of Eternal Diamonds and a ninth of Gates of Olympus 2500.
A 6×5 pay-anywhere grid is also one of the easiest layouts to read on a phone, because there are no paylines to trace — you are counting symbols, and the game counts them for you. The one thing that gets busy in portrait is a long tumble sequence with several multipliers in view, which is exactly when you want to see the total. Landscape helps there, as it does on every game in this family.
Five things to know before you spin
- Open the information screen before you stake money. This game has certified RTP builds that no public source lists. That screen is the only place your casino’s figure is written, and on this title it is the only place.
- There are no multipliers in the base game. If you are waiting for one outside the free spins, you are waiting for something that cannot happen. The bonus is the game.
- Multipliers add, they do not multiply. Three 50x symbols make 150x. A long tumble collecting several medium multipliers beats one 100x on a short sequence.
- Read the paytable by band, not by symbol. Purple candy pays 2.5× for eight and 25× for twelve. Four extra symbols is a tenfold difference, and that gap is where the game’s money is.
- Check your casino’s maximum payout term before chasing 21,100×. At the 100 maximum bet that is 2.1 million, and most operator terms cap a single win well below it.
Where to play Sweet Bonanza for real money
Every casino below runs the Pragmatic Play lobby, where this game is distributed. Ask which RTP build they run before depositing — this title has certified ranges that no public source lists, which makes that question worth more here than on almost any other game we cover.
9.6 safety rating and fast e-wallet payouts — a clean, quick place to play.
9.5 at casino.guru with terms rated fair — one of the cleanest records we list.
9.0 safety index and just 21 black points — by far the cleanest mid-pool record.

Who this slot is for
This is for the player who wants the format without the apparatus. Sweet Bonanza does one thing — tumble, collect, multiply inside the bonus — and it does it with a paytable you can hold in your head. Its own descendants bolted on wheels, four bonus variants, ante bets and buy menus running to 1,250× the stake. If that arms race lost you somewhere, this is where it started and it still plays clean.
It is not for anyone who needs to know the numbers before they commit. We can tell you the RTP on the studio’s page and the ceiling at SlotCatalog, and after that the public record runs out: no published hit frequency, no free spins frequency, no max-win probability, and certified builds whose values nobody prints. For a game this widely played that is a poor showing, and if you are the kind of player who checks an ante bet’s RTP before switching it on, Coven Rising publishes everything this one does not.
It also suits a weak connection better than anything else in the catalogue. 20.8 MB is not a rounding error on a phone in a bad signal area — it is the difference between playing and waiting.

Our verdict on Sweet Bonanza
The game everyone copied, and the one nobody will publish the numbers for
Seven years on, the thing that stands out about Sweet Bonanza is not the ceiling or the multipliers — it is how little there is. One bonus round. One mechanic. A paytable you read once. Its own descendants now ship four free spins variants behind a wheel, five special bets and a buy menu topping 1,250× the stake, and it is genuinely unclear that any of them is more enjoyable than this. The 21,100× ceiling still beats almost everything in the family, the 100x multiplier cap keeps long tumble sequences rather than single symbols at the centre of the game, and a 20.8 MB build loads on a connection where the 2026 releases stall. What drags the score down is the documentation, and it is a real failure on the most played slot this studio makes: no published hit frequency, no free spins frequency, no max-win probability, and certified RTP builds that SlotCatalog confirms exist while neither it nor Pragmatic will say what they are. Play the demo, open the information screen, and find out what you have been given.
