Coffee Dealer slot by Hacksaw Gaming — game artwork

Hacksaw spent most of 2026 building cluster and all-scatter games. Coffee Dealer goes back to paylines — 19 of them on a 5 × 5 grid — and builds everything on one idea: the Coffee Cup is a wild that expands to fill its entire reel and carries a multiplier of up to ×10.

That ceiling is the thing to understand before you play. Hacksaw’s own Hot Ross runs the same wild-reel mechanic with multipliers reaching ×200. This is a deliberately smaller, simpler version of that game, and the 10,000× cap reflects it.

More on the figures above. The RTP builds, the hit frequency and the 10,000× ceiling are the game’s own published figures. Volatility is rated 4 out of 5; other databases describe the same game as “medium-high” and one as “high”, which is the usual spread when a studio publishes a number and reviewers translate it into words. The 4/5 figure is the game’s own.

How the game plays

Five reels, five rows, 19 fixed paylines. Stakes run from 0.10 to 100 a spin.

The Coffee Cup is the whole game. It is a wild, and when it lands it expands to cover its full reel and takes a multiplier with it — up to ×10. Five Coffee Cups on a line pay 20× the bet on their own, which tells you the symbol is not really there for its own pay value; it is there to turn a reel into a helper and multiply whatever the other four reels produce.

Scatters open three different rounds, and which one you get depends on how many land at once. Three gives Mug Life, four gives Brewfather, and five gives Espresso Empire — a round the game does not advertise on its paytable and that most players will never see. All three retrigger: two or three scatters during a bonus add two or four more spins.

There are no cascades, no ways-to-win, and no hold-and-win meter. On a 2026 Hacksaw release that is close to radical.

The story behind the game

Released 20 October 2026, two days before this review.

It arrives in the middle of an unusually dense run from the studio — Wicked Grin, Demonic Dolls, Le Vampire, Epic SixSixSix and The Jade Path Hold & Win all landed within about eight weeks of it. Four of those five are cluster or all-scatter games. Coffee Dealer is the odd one out, and that is the most interesting thing about it: Hacksaw testing whether its audience still wants a payline game.

Its closest relative is not in that list. Hot Ross uses the same expanding-wild-reel mechanic with multipliers up to ×200, and the honest way to describe Coffee Dealer is as the stripped-down version — same skeleton, one twentieth of the multiplier ceiling, and a much lower price of entry for the feature buys.

Symbols and paytable

Hacksaw publishes the pay values on the in-game information screen. What follows is the part that changes how you read a spin.

The Coffee Cup — wild, expanding, multipliedLands anywhere, expands to fill its reel, and carries a multiplier of up to ×10. Five on a line pay 20× the bet. Multiple expanded reels in one spin is where the game’s better results come from, because the multipliers are doing the work, not the symbol itself.
The scatter — three different doorsThree, four or five scatters open three different rounds rather than the same round at different lengths. That is unusual, and it means a four-scatter trigger is not “a slightly better three-scatter” — it is a different game mode.
The paying symbolsA standard ladder underneath. They are not the point; on a 19-line grid with a 28.69% hit frequency, the base-game combinations are there to keep the balance moving while you wait for a Cup or a scatter.
No jackpot, no cascade, no meterWorth stating because Hacksaw’s recent releases have all carried one or the other. The Jade Path has a Hold & Win, Wicked Grin has all-scatter pays, Demonic Dolls and Le Vampire both cascade. This has none of them.

The practical consequence is that there is nothing to track in the base game except Cups and scatters. There is no meter filling and no progress to monitor — a spin either produces one of those two symbols or it is simply a spin.

Bonus features and free spins

☕

Wild Coffee Reels — the whole base game

A Coffee Cup expands across its reel and carries a multiplier up to ×10. Two or three expanded reels in a single spin is the base game’s best outcome and happens often enough to be worth waiting for. Five Cups on a line pay 20× the bet by themselves.

🍵

Mug Life — 3 scatters, 10 free spins

The entry-level round. Ten spins with a raised chance of Coffee Cups landing. It is the one you will see most often and the one that does least — it changes the odds of the base mechanic rather than adding a new one.

👑

Brewfather — 4 scatters, 8 free spins

Two spins shorter and considerably stronger. Expanded wild reels stay active for the rest of the round, and a Coffee Cup is guaranteed on the active reels each spin. The reels lock up as you go, so the last spins of a Brewfather round are worth far more than the first.

💥

Espresso Empire — 5 scatters, the hidden round

Ten free spins with two Coffee Cups guaranteed on every spin. Five scatters at once is rare enough that most players will never trigger it naturally, and the game does not sell it anywhere in its own marketing. It is also the only one of the three that cannot be bought.

🔄

All three retrigger

Two or three scatters during any of the bonuses add two or four extra free spins. On Brewfather, where the wild reels are already locking in, a retrigger is worth noticeably more than it is on Mug Life.

What we like

  • 96.29% on the top build is slightly above the broad video-slot average and in line with the rest of Hacksaw’s autumn 2026 range.
  • Brewfather is a genuinely well-designed round. Wild reels that stay locked for the remainder turn a short eight-spin bonus into something that compounds.
  • Four separate buys at four prices — 3×, 80×, 100× and 200× — is an unusually wide ladder, and the 3× BonusHunt option is cheap enough to be a real alternative to base-game spins.
  • A payline game from Hacksaw is a change of pace if the studio’s run of cluster and all-scatter titles has worn thin.
What to watch

  • The ×10 multiplier ceiling is low for this mechanic. Hot Ross reaches ×200 on the same idea, and once you know that, Coffee Dealer’s version feels deliberately clipped.
  • A 28.69% hit frequency with 4/5 volatility means long quiet stretches. Roughly seven spins in ten return nothing at all.
  • Espresso Empire is effectively unreachable for most players — five scatters at once, and no buy option for it.
  • Mug Life is a weak primary bonus. The round you will trigger most often is the one that adds the least.

How Coffee Dealer compares

Against the other Hacksaw games we have reviewed from the same eight-week run, this one is distinguished by its structure rather than its numbers — the RTPs are all within about a tenth of a point of each other.

GameStudioRTP (top build)VolatilityMax winGrid
Coffee DealerHacksaw Gaming96.29%High (4/5)10,000×5 × 5, 19 lines
Epic SixSixSixHacksaw Gaming96.27%High (5/5)20,666×Not published
Wicked GrinHacksaw Gaming96.27%Medium (3/5)10,000×5 × 5, all-scatter
Le VampireHacksaw Gaming97.57%Medium (3/5)15,000×6 × 5, cluster
Demonic DollsHacksaw Gaming96.26%Medium (3/5)10,000×5 × 5, cluster

Note how tightly the RTPs cluster — 96.26% to 96.31% across four of the five. Le Vampire’s 97.57% is the outlier of the studio’s whole recent range and remains the better number if RTP is what you are choosing on. What separates Coffee Dealer is that it is the only payline game here; everything else pays by cluster, by all-scatter, or does not publish a line count at all.

Coffee Dealer RTP, volatility and max win

Coffee Dealer is published at more than one RTP. Four certified builds, and the operator picks which one it runs. The game does not announce its build in the lobby; it is on the information screen, behind the paytable. With a 28.69% hit frequency you are not playing enough paying spins for the difference to show up in a session — which is exactly why it is worth checking before you start rather than trying to feel it.

96.29%the headline build, and the only one Hacksaw markets
94.38%nearly two points down
92.25%four points below the headline
86.33%ten points below the headline — avoid

The headline figure is 96.29%, and that is the one Hacksaw leads with. Three lower builds are certified alongside it — 94.38%, 92.25% and 86.33% — and the casino decides which it runs.

That bottom build deserves a flat warning. 86.33% is ten points below the headline, and no amount of good bonus design compensates for it. It is a different game economically. Open the information screen before your first spin; the running RTP is printed there, and it is the only place it appears.

The 28.69% hit frequency is the other number worth holding. Rather less than one spin in three returns anything, which is normal for a 4/5 volatility game but means a balance drains visibly between features. Size your stake for the gaps rather than for the 10,000× ceiling.

Bets, bankroll and session planning

Stakes run from 0.10 to 100 a spin, which is Hacksaw’s usual range and wide enough for most bankrolls.

The buys are where this game is unusual. There are four of them at four prices: BonusHunt FeatureSpins at 3× the bet, Coffee Breath FeatureSpins at 100× (which guarantees at least two Coffee Cups), Mug Life at 80× and Brewfather at 200×.

The 3× BonusHunt option is the interesting one. It is cheap enough to be a genuine alternative to spinning the base game rather than a separate decision, which is not true of the 80× and 200× buys. Note that Espresso Empire, the strongest of the three rounds, cannot be bought at any price — you have to land five scatters.

Playing on mobile

It runs in the browser on a phone with no download and no app. The 5 × 5 grid holds its proportions in portrait, and the expanded wild reels are large enough to read without zooming — which matters more here than on a cluster game, because the multiplier value sits on the reel itself.

Five things to know before you spin

  1. Check the RTP build before your first spin. Four are certified and the lowest is 86.33%. It is on the information screen behind the paytable, and nowhere else.
  2. Treat Brewfather as the goal, not Mug Life. Eight spins with reels that lock up is worth more than ten spins with slightly better odds. If you are buying, the 200× is the one that matches the game’s design.
  3. The 3× BonusHunt buy is priced like a spin, not like a bonus. If you were going to play 20 base-game spins anyway, it is worth comparing directly against that.
  4. Do not plan around Espresso Empire. Five scatters, no buy option, not advertised. Treat it as a surprise rather than a target.
  5. Watch the multiplier on each expanded reel, not just the count. Three expanded reels at ×1 is a much smaller spin than one at ×10, and the game resolves them together.

Who this slot is for

If you have been playing Hacksaw’s cluster games and want a break from cascades and grids, this is the one in the current range that plays differently. Nineteen paylines, one mechanic, three bonus rounds, nothing to track.

It is less of a fit if you came for the ceiling. 10,000× is the lowest of Hacksaw’s recent high-volatility releases, and the ×10 multiplier cap is modest for the mechanic it is built on. Players who liked Hot Ross specifically for its ×200 reels will find this a smaller game in every direction. That is a legitimate design choice — it makes the bonuses cheaper and the swings shallower — but it should be a choice you make knowingly.

Our verdict on Coffee Dealer

7.5/ 10

A smaller, cheaper Hot Ross — and it knows it

Coffee Dealer is a well-built game working inside limits it set for itself. The wild-reel mechanic is clean, Brewfather is a genuinely clever round, and the four-price buy ladder gives you more ways into the game than Hacksaw usually offers.

But the ×10 multiplier cap and the 10,000× ceiling are the defining facts, and they are both modest for this studio and this mechanic. Hacksaw’s own Hot Ross runs the same idea at ×200. If you come to Coffee Dealer first, it reads as a solid payline game with a nice bonus; if you come to it from Hot Ross, it reads as the budget edition.

Worth playing for Brewfather and for the novelty of a Hacksaw game with actual paylines. Not the one to choose if the ceiling is what you are shopping for — Epic SixSixSix at 20,666× is the same studio, the same autumn, and twice the top end.
