The Gates of Olympus Dice demo is the 2021 original with dice in place of the gems, and almost nothing else changed. Same 6×5 grid, same pay-anywhere rule at eight symbols or more, same 96.50% published return, same 5,000× ceiling, same multipliers running from 2× to 500×. It exists because Pragmatic builds a dice version of its hits for the Belgian market, not because the maths needed revisiting. That makes it the least interesting Gates game to write about and, for a particular player, the only one worth opening — if dice editions are what your operator carries, this is Gates of Olympus and the figures are the ones you already know. The thing actually worth checking is the return: SlotCatalog has observed a casino running this at 95.51%, a full point under the advertised number, with nothing on the reels to show it.

Gates of Olympus Dice slot at a glance
More on the figures above. The 96.50% RTP, the 6×5 grid, the eight-or-more pay-anywhere rule, the 2×–500× multiplier range and the four-scatter free spins trigger are from Pragmatic Play’s own game page for this title. The 5,000× ceiling, the 5-out-of-5 volatility reading, the 6 February 2024 release date, the 0.20–125 bet range, the 3×/5×/100× upfront scatter pays, the 100× bonus buy, the 25% ante bet and the observed 95.51% build are from SlotCatalog. Pragmatic states no volatility rating and no maximum win on its page, as is its habit across this series. Our catalogue carries no release date for this title; the 6 February 2024 date matches the date it was added to the feed.
How the game plays
Six reels, five rows, and no paylines at all: eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid pay, which is the pay-anywhere model the whole Gates series runs on. Winning symbols are removed and new ones tumble down to fill the gaps, so one spin can resolve into a chain of wins. Multiplier symbols land at random and carry values from 2× to 500×. In the base game they apply to the win in front of them and then clear. In the free spins they do not clear: every multiplier that lands is added to a running total which applies to everything afterwards, and that accumulation is where the game’s whole ceiling lives. Four or more Scatters anywhere in view open the round, and they pay something on the way in — SlotCatalog records 3×, 5× or 100× the stake for four, five or six Scatters. The round starts at 15 free spins and three or more Scatters during it add five more, with no published limit on retriggers.
The story behind the game
Gates of Olympus arrived in February 2021 and became one of the most-played slots in the world; this dice edition followed on 6 February 2024. Pragmatic’s dice editions are a market-specific product line rather than sequels. The studio has rolled them out through Belgian operators — Peppermill launched its dice collection in 2023, Hotwin followed in 2024, and Bingoal carries them too — and Pragmatic’s own executives describe dice games as a Belgian speciality. One Belgian operator states that dice slots are authorised under a B+ licence; that is operator marketing rather than a regulator’s statement, and no published rule we can find explains the requirement, so it is repeated here as a claim and not as a fact. The practical consequence is that a dice edition is not a sequel and should not be read as one. Pragmatic has since built the same thing on Gates of Olympus 1000 and Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, so there are now three Gates dice titles, each tracking its own parent’s numbers rather than advancing anything.
Symbols and paytable
From Pragmatic’s own game page, with the figures it declines to publish filled in from SlotCatalog and marked.
| Grid | 6 reels, 5 rows |
|---|---|
| Win rule | pay anywhere — 8 or more matching symbols |
| RTP | 96.50% (Pragmatic’s page) |
| Lower build observed | 95.51% at one operator (SlotCatalog) |
| Volatility | High — 5/5 (SlotCatalog); Pragmatic publishes none |
| Maximum win | 5,000× total bet (SlotCatalog) |
| Multipliers | 2× to 500×, additive |
| Base-game multipliers | clear between spins |
| Free-spins multipliers | accumulate and do not reset |
| Free spins trigger | 4 or more Scatters |
| Scatter pays | 3× / 5× / 100× for 4 / 5 / 6 (SlotCatalog) |
| Free spins awarded | 15, +5 for 3 or more Scatters in the round |
| Bonus buy | 100× stake — not offered in the UK |
| Ante bet | +25% per spin, doubles the trigger chance — not UK |
| Bet range | 0.20 to 125 (SlotCatalog) |
| Released | 6 February 2024 |
| Jackpot | none |
Two of those rows are the reason this page exists. Pragmatic publishes neither a volatility rating nor a maximum win for any game in this series, so the 5-out-of-5 reading and the 5,000× ceiling are SlotCatalog’s and are labelled as such. The 95.51% build is the row to remember: it is not a theoretical possibility but a figure recorded at a live casino.
Bonus features and free spins
Dice instead of gems, and that is the change
The six paying symbols are dice faces rather than coloured gems, with spinning dice animations in place of the original’s tumbling jewels. The grid, the pay rule, the paytable positions, the multiplier range and the bonus are all carried across unchanged. Treating this as a new game would be a mistake; treating it as Gates of Olympus with a different coat of paint is exactly right.
Multipliers that only accumulate in the bonus
2× to 500×, added together rather than multiplied by each other. The distinction that matters is when they persist: in the base game each multiplier applies once and clears, while in free spins they build into a single running total that then applies to every subsequent win. A base-game session and a bonus round are effectively two different games.
Scatters that pay on the way in
Four, five or six Scatters award 3×, 5× or 100× the stake before the round even starts, according to SlotCatalog. That upfront payment is also why the bonus buy is described as discounted by the scatter payout — you are paying for the round and being handed part of it back.
A buy and an ante, neither available in the UK
The bonus buy costs 100× the stake and the ante bet adds 25% per spin for double the trigger chance. Both are blocked in the UK by regulation, which means a British player and a Belgian player are not really playing the same product even before the RTP build is considered.
The lowest ceiling in the series
5,000× is where this build stops, against 15,000× on the 1000 editions, 25,000× on Gates of Olympus 2500 and 50,000× on Super Scatter. It follows directly from the 500× multiplier cap. If the ceiling is what you are here for, this is the wrong Gates game and the series gives you three better options.
- 96.50% is Pragmatic’s own published figure, identical to the original and to the rest of the series.
- The maths is completely known — this is a five-year-old game with an enormous play history behind it, not an untested release.
- Multipliers accumulate through the whole bonus, so a long round compounds rather than restarting.
- Scatters pay up to 100× before the round begins, which is unusual and genuinely valuable.
- The pay-anywhere grid removes payline arithmetic entirely — eight symbols anywhere is the only rule to learn.
- For a player whose operator only carries dice editions, this is the real Gates of Olympus at the real numbers.
- A lower 95.51% build has been observed live, a full point under the advertised 96.50%, with nothing on screen to distinguish them.
- 5,000× is the lowest ceiling of any Gates game reviewed here — a tenth of Super Scatter’s.
- Nothing is mechanically new. The dice are a reskin; there is no feature here the 2021 original does not have.
- Pragmatic publishes no volatility rating and no maximum win, so both headline risk figures come from a database.
- Neither the buy nor the ante is available in the UK, which removes the two levers most players use on this engine.
- High volatility on a 5,000× cap is an awkward combination — the swings of a big game with the ceiling of a small one.
How Gates of Olympus Dice compares
Against the original it reskins and the rest of the Gates of Olympus line reviewed here.
| Game | RTP | Volatility | Top pay | Multiplier cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gates of Olympus Dice | 96.50% | High (5/5) | 5,000× total bet | 500× |
| Gates of Olympus | 96.50% | High | 5,000× total bet | 500× |
| Gates of Olympus 1000 | 96.50% | Very high | 15,000× total bet | 1,000× |
| Gates of Olympus 2500 | 96.51% | High | 25,000× total bet | 2,500× |
| Gates of Olympus Super Scatter | 96.50% | High | 50,000× total bet | 500× |
The first two rows are the same game, which is the honest summary of this release. What the table shows beyond that is how little the return moves across the series — every one of these sits at 96.50% or 96.51% — and how much the ceiling does, from 5,000× here to 50,000× on Super Scatter. In this family the RTP is effectively fixed and the multiplier cap is the product. Super Scatter is the interesting exception: it reaches 50,000× on the same 500× multiplier cap as this game, because its instant Super Scatter prizes sit outside the multiplier system entirely.
Gates of Olympus Dice RTP, volatility and max win
Gates of Olympus Dice is published at more than one RTP. Pragmatic prints one figure and SlotCatalog notes that customisable RTP ranges exist for this title, listing a casino running 95.51% and several more showing no figure at all. That is the whole problem with configurable return in one line: the studio advertises 96.50%, a real operator was observed serving a point less, and the reels are identical either way. The in-game information screen is the only place the installed figure appears.
| 96.50% | Pragmatic’s own published figure, and the build the databases list by default. |
|---|---|
| 95.51% | A lower build, recorded live at one operator by SlotCatalog — which is how we know the ladder is real rather than theoretical. |
96.50% is Pragmatic’s own figure, printed on its game page for this title, and it is the number the whole Gates of Olympus line runs on — the original, the 1000, the Super Scatter and this dice build all carry it, with only Gates of Olympus 2500 differing at 96.51%. Against the wider archive it is a good figure: a little over the 96.28% median across the 241 reviews on this site. The complication is that it is not the only build in circulation. SlotCatalog notes that customisable RTP ranges exist for this title and records a casino running it at 95.51%, with several more listing no figure at all. That is worth separating from the usual warning about configurable return, because it is not a theoretical ladder quoted from a certification document — it is an operator observed serving a point less than the advertised number. A full percentage point is a large amount of money over any real volume of play, and there is nothing in the dice, the grid or the paytable that would tell you which build you had. The information screen inside the game is the only place it is stated. On volatility, Pragmatic publishes nothing — it publishes nothing for any game in this series — and SlotCatalog reads the in-game scale at 5 out of 5. That fits the structure: a bonus whose multipliers accumulate without resetting produces most of its value in a small number of long rounds. The 5,000× ceiling is also SlotCatalog’s rather than the studio’s, and it is the lowest in the series. The arithmetic behind it is simple enough to check: the largest multiplier this build can show is 500×, where the 1000 editions reach 1,000× and the 2500 reaches 2,500×, and the ceiling moves with the cap.
Bets, bankroll and session planning
SlotCatalog lists the bet range as 0.20 to 125 per spin; Pragmatic publishes no range on its own page. The bonus buy costs 100× the stake, discounted by the scatter payout, and the ante bet adds 25% per spin for double the trigger chance. Neither is offered in the UK.
Playing on mobile
The demo above runs in a phone browser with no app and no download. A 6×5 pay-anywhere grid is dense but it needs no payline tracing, which is what makes this engine read well on a small screen — you are watching for clusters and multiplier symbols, not following lines.
Five things to know before you spin
- Check the information screen for the RTP. A live casino has been recorded running this at 95.51% against the advertised 96.50%, and nothing on the reels distinguishes them.
- Base-game multipliers clear; bonus multipliers do not. This is the single most important rule in the game and it is easy to miss.
- Scatters pay before the round starts. Six of them are worth 100× the stake on their own, which is why the buy is described as discounted.
- 5,000× is this build’s ceiling, not the series’. If you are carrying expectations over from Gates of Olympus 1000 or Super Scatter, halve them and then halve them again.
- It is the 2021 game. There is no new feature to learn and no reason to expect different behaviour from the original.
- The buy and the ante are blocked in the UK. If you are playing from Britain, the two levers most guides assume you have are not there.

Who this slot is for
For players in markets where the dice editions are what the operator carries. It is Gates of Olympus at the original’s numbers, and that is both the recommendation and the limit of it. Anyone with the choice of the whole series should pick by ceiling instead, because the return is effectively identical across all five and only the multiplier cap really moves.

Our verdict on Gates of Olympus Dice
The original, in dice — and a 95.51% build somebody is actually running
There is no way to review this game as a new release, because it is not one. Gates of Olympus Dice is the February 2021 original with dice faces where the gems were: the same six reels and five rows, the same eight-or-more pay-anywhere rule, the same 96.50% published return, the same 2× to 500× multipliers that clear in the base game and accumulate in the bonus, and the same 5,000× ceiling. It exists because Pragmatic maintains a dice line for the Belgian market, launched through operators like Peppermill, Hotwin and Bingoal, and not because anything about the maths needed another look. Judged as what it is, it inherits a genuinely good game. The accumulating bonus multiplier is still one of the better ideas in modern slots, the upfront scatter payment of up to 100× is still unusually generous, and five years of play history means there are no surprises left in it. Judged against its own family, it is the weakest option on the only axis that moves: 5,000× against 15,000× on the 1000 builds, 25,000× on the 2500 and 50,000× on Super Scatter, with all five returning the same 96.5%. The reason to be careful is the one thing that is genuinely specific to this title. SlotCatalog has recorded a live casino serving it at 95.51%, a full point below the number Pragmatic advertises, and several more listing no figure at all. That is not a certification table — it is an operator, observed. Open the information screen before you play, because on this game it is the only thing that will tell you which version you have.
