Sweet Bonanza 2500 slot by Pragmatic Play — game artwork

The Sweet Bonanza 2500 demo is the free, no-signup version of Pragmatic Play’s 30 April 2026 release — the candy board with its multiplier bomb ceiling raised to 2,500×. It runs 96.52% RTP at its top certified build, high volatility, and a maximum win of 25,000×. That last number is the one to sit with: it is exactly the same ceiling as Sweet Bonanza 1000, a game whose bombs stop at 1,000×. The cap went up 150%. The ceiling did not move at all.

The Sweet Bonanza 2500 demo runs the real game on play money: the same 6×5 grid, the same tumbles, the same bombs, the same free spins round. Nothing is simplified and nothing is rigged in your favour. Demo credits have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, which is precisely why it is the honest way to find out how often this board actually does anything.

It is also the cheapest way to test the claim in the name. Buy a few hundred spins of demo money and watch how rarely a bomb above 1,000× lands at all, let alone lands inside a winning tumble.

This demo is part of our Pragmatic Play demo collection.

JackpotNoneNo jackpot, fixed or progressive. Everything comes from the paytable, the tumbles and the multiplier bombs.

More on the figures above. RTP and max win come from aggregator databases rather than a Pragmatic specification sheet, and one source disagrees on the top RTP. The 2,500x cap and the 25,000x ceiling are consistent across every source we checked.

How the game plays

Six reels, five rows, no paylines. A win is eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid — position is irrelevant, which is why the board can look chaotic and still be paying.

Winning symbols vanish and the rest tumble down, new symbols fill the gaps, and the chain continues until a drop produces no new win. Four or more lollipop scatters trigger the free spins round, and that is where the multiplier bombs live.

In free spins, bomb symbols land carrying a multiplier value. At the end of a tumble sequence every bomb on screen is added together and the total is applied to that sequence’s win. In this edition a single bomb can carry up to 2,500×. In Sweet Bonanza 1000 the same bomb stops at 1,000×, and in the 2019 original at 100×.

The story behind the game

Sweet Bonanza landed in 2019 and became one of the most copied maths models in the industry: scatter pays, tumbling reels, multiplier bombs in the bonus. Pragmatic has since rebuilt it repeatedly, and the pattern of those rebuilds is the interesting part.

The 2019 original caps its bombs at 100× and tops out around 21,100×. Sweet Bonanza 1000 arrived in June 2024, raised the cap to 1,000×, and lifted the ceiling to 25,000× — a 150% jump in headroom bought under 20% more ceiling. Sweet Bonanza 2500 arrived on 30 April 2026, raised the cap again to 2,500×, and lifted the ceiling by nothing whatsoever.

That is not a criticism of the game so much as a fact about how these numbers work. Beyond a point, raising the maximum value a single symbol can carry stops changing the maximum the game can pay, because the ceiling is a cap applied to the whole game, not a sum of its parts.

Symbols and paytable

Scatter-pays on the familiar fruit-and-candy ladder, with the bombs doing all the heavy lifting in the bonus.

Pay anywhereEight or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6×5 grid. Position is irrelevant.
TumblesWinning symbols vanish, the rest fall, new ones fill the gaps. The chain runs until no new win forms.
Top symbolThe red heart is the premium. Twelve or more of them is the biggest single paytable hit on the board.
ScattersFour or more lollipops anywhere trigger the free spins round. They do not need to be adjacent.
Free spinsAwarded as a block, with the bombs active throughout and retriggers available from further scatters.
Multiplier bombsFree-spins only. Each carries a value up to 2,500×, and every bomb on screen is summed and applied to that tumble sequence.
Ante betFive modes, raising the stake in exchange for a better scatter rate. It does not raise the ceiling.
Feature buyThree separate buy options at different prices, each guaranteeing entry to the bonus.

No gamble ladder and no jackpot. The bombs are the entire proposition, and they only exist inside free spins — which is why the base game can feel so flat for so long.

Bonus features and free spins

🍩

Scatter pays, eight or more

No lines to study. Eight matching symbols anywhere pays, and the tumbles mean a single paid spin can produce a run of wins in sequence.

💣

Bombs up to 2,500×

The headline feature and the source of the name. Free-spins only, summed across the screen, applied to the sequence — not to your whole session.

🍬

Four scatters for the bonus

Lollipops anywhere on the grid. The base game exists mainly to find them, which is the honest description of how this maths plays.

💰

Three feature buys

More buy options than most of the family. Convenient, expensive, and the fastest way to discover that the bonus is not a guaranteed payday.

⚖

Five ante modes

Raise the stake, improve the scatter rate. It shortens the wait for the bonus without improving what the bonus is worth.

What we like

  • 96.52% at the top certified build is a genuinely good figure for this family, a full point above what we recorded for Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter.
  • A 42.91% hit frequency is reported for the base game, which is high — the board pays something often, even if it pays small.
  • Three feature buys and five ante modes give more ways into the bonus than any earlier game in the family.
  • The tumble-and-bomb maths is six years refined at this point, and it is smooth, readable and quick on any device.
  • The demo is complete and unrestricted, so the 2,500× claim can be tested for nothing.
What to watch

  • The name promises headroom the game does not have. The ceiling is 25,000× — identical to Sweet Bonanza 1000, whose bombs stop at 1,000×.
  • Pragmatic certifies builds at 95.53% and 94.54% as well, so the 96.52% on this page is the best case, not a promise.
  • High volatility with everything loaded into free spins means long, flat stretches of base game.
  • One source puts the maximum win at roughly 1 in 66.7 million spins, which is a number worth reading literally.
  • Sources disagree on the top RTP, with Slots Temple listing 96.25% against everyone else’s 96.52%.

Read the first two rows together and the point makes itself. The cap went from 1,000× to 2,500×, the RTP moved by one hundredth of a point in the wrong direction, and the ceiling did not move at all. If you are choosing between them on headline numbers alone, there is nothing to choose.

Sweet Bonanza 2500 RTP, volatility and max win

Sweet Bonanza 2500 is published at more than one RTP. Pragmatic certifies this game at more than one return and the casino picks which build to run. The number on our page is the top one; the number on your screen may not be. Check the game’s own info panel every time.

96.52%The default and highest certified build, and the figure most databases record.
95.53%A lower certified build operators may choose instead.
94.54%The lowest certified build we found referenced. Two full points below the headline.
96.25%What Slots Temple lists as the highest available. It is the outlier and disagrees with everyone else.

96.52% is the default and highest certified build, and it is the figure nearly every database records. It is a good number for this family — a hundredth below Sweet Bonanza 1000 and a full point above the 95.56% we recorded for Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter.

The caveat matters more than the number. Pragmatic certifies this title at 95.53% and 94.54% as well, and the operator chooses which build to run. Two points of RTP is not a rounding difference; it is roughly a 40% increase in what the house expects to keep. Nothing on a casino’s lobby tile tells you which build you are about to open, so the game’s own info panel is the only reliable check, and it is worth doing every time rather than once.

One source, Slots Temple, lists the highest available RTP as 96.25%. It disagrees with everything else we found, and we are recording it rather than quietly dropping it.

Bets, bankroll and session planning

Stakes run from £0.20 upward, with the ante modes and the buy options sitting on top. Five ante settings raise the stake in exchange for a better scatter rate, and three separate feature buys guarantee entry to the bonus at three different prices.

None of these change the ceiling and none of them change the RTP in your favour in any meaningful sense — a buy is a way of paying now for a bonus you would otherwise wait for. In a demo they are free, which makes this the ideal place to find out what a bonus round is actually worth before deciding whether buying one is sensible.

Playing on mobile

Pragmatic has had six years to get this board right on a phone and it shows. The 6×5 grid scales cleanly in portrait, the tumbles stay legible, and the bomb values are large enough to read without squinting. Autoplay and the buy menus are reachable one-handed.

The one thing that does not translate well is the free-spins screen when several bombs land at once — on a small display the sum is doing a lot of work in a small space, and it is easy to miss which bombs contributed.

Five things to know before you spin

  1. Understand what the 2500 means before you play. It is the maximum value a single bomb can carry, not the maximum the game can pay. The ceiling is 25,000×, identical to Sweet Bonanza 1000.
  2. Check the RTP in the info panel, not on a review. Builds at 95.53% and 94.54% exist and the casino chooses. Ours is the top figure and may not be yours.
  3. Use the demo to price the bonus. Trigger free spins a dozen times for nothing and note what they actually return. Most come back well under the cost of buying one.
  4. Treat the ante modes as a speed control, not a value upgrade. They shorten the wait for the bonus by raising the stake, which is a different thing from improving your position.
  5. Do not chase the 2,500× bomb. At roughly 1 in 66.7 million spins for the maximum, the top end is a lottery ticket attached to a slot machine, not an outcome to plan around.

Who this slot is for

For players who already like the Sweet Bonanza rhythm and want the newest build with the most ways into the bonus. The hit frequency is high, the board is readable, and at 96.52% the top build is among the better figures in the family.

Not for anyone buying the name. If you are choosing this over Sweet Bonanza 1000 because 2500 sounds bigger than 1000, you are paying attention to the one number in the specification that does not describe what you can win.

Sweet Bonanza 2500 demo and slot FAQ

Can I play the Sweet Bonanza 2500 demo for free?
Yes — the demo above is the full game on play money, with no account and no deposit. Same 6×5 grid, same tumbles, same bombs. Demo credits have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.
What does the 2500 in the name mean?
It is the maximum multiplier a single bomb symbol can carry in free spins. It is not the maximum win, which is 25,000× your total bet.
Does Sweet Bonanza 2500 pay more than Sweet Bonanza 1000?
Not at the top. Both are capped at 25,000× total bet. The 2500 edition reaches that ceiling through bigger individual bombs, but the ceiling itself is identical.
What is the RTP?
96.52% on the default and highest certified build. Pragmatic also certifies builds at 95.53% and 94.54%, and the casino chooses which to run, so check the game’s info panel.
How volatile is it?
High. The base game pays often but small — a 42.91% hit frequency is reported — while everything of consequence happens inside the free spins round.
Is there a jackpot?
No. There is no fixed or progressive jackpot. Every win comes from the paytable, the tumbles and the bombs.
When was it released?
30 April 2026, making it the newest full-size entry in the Sweet Bonanza line at the time of writing.

Our verdict on Sweet Bonanza 2500

8.2/ 10

A better game than its name, which is an odd thing to have to say

Taken on its own, Sweet Bonanza 2500 is a good version of a maths model that has earned its popularity. 96.52% at the top build is a solid figure, the hit frequency is high, and three buy options plus five ante modes give more routes into the bonus than any earlier game in the family. If you enjoy this board, this is a perfectly good one to play.

Taken against its own marketing, it is harder to defend. The number in the title went up 150% and the maximum win went up zero. A player comparing Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Sweet Bonanza 2500 on the only numbers visible from a casino lobby would reasonably conclude the newer game pays more. It does not. It reaches the same ceiling by a different route.

That is exactly the kind of thing a free demo is for. Play a few hundred spins of play money, watch how often a bomb clears 1,000×, and decide for yourself whether the newer edition is doing anything the older one was not.
