Sugar Rush Dice slot by Pragmatic Play — game artwork

The Sugar Rush Dice demo is the free, no-signup version of Pragmatic Play’s dice-symbol build of Sugar Rush, which reached our catalogue on 7 July 2024. It keeps the 7×7 cluster grid, the position-locked multiplier spots and the tumbling wins, running 96.5% RTP, high volatility and a 5,000× ceiling. This is the third dice build we have reviewed, and the pattern holds: the symbol set changes and the maths does not.

More on the figures above. One listing gives a release date of 8 July 2024, and our catalogue first saw it on 7 July 2024, which agrees to within a day. Why the Dice range exists is not documented anywhere we could verify.

How the game plays

A 7×7 grid with no paylines. A win is a cluster of five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically. Diagonals do not count.

Winning symbols clear, new ones drop in, and the chain continues while new clusters keep forming. Each position involved in a win gains a multiplier spot starting at 2×, which doubles every time that same position wins again.

The multipliers belong to places on the grid rather than to symbols, and they persist through the tumble sequence and across free spins. A large result is repeated wins landing on the same squares until those squares carry serious multipliers, then a cluster covering them.

Scatters trigger free spins, and a feature buy is available where the operator permits it.

The story behind the game

Pragmatic runs a Dice range in parallel with its main catalogue, replacing a game’s symbols with dice faces and leaving the maths alone. We have now reviewed three of them — Sweet Bonanza Dice, Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice and this one — and in every case the published figures track the parent game to within a hundredth of a point.

The widely repeated explanation is that these builds serve the Belgian market, where licence categories distinguish dice games from slots and the iconography decides which category a title sits in. We have not been able to verify that from an authoritative source on any of the three. No Pragmatic documentation or regulator publication confirming it has turned up, and the sites asserting it are low-authority. It is the most plausible account available and may well be right; it is not something we will state as fact.

Sugar Rush Dice arrived in July 2024, between Sugar Rush 1000 and Sugar Rush Super Scatter. It takes its figures from the 2022 original rather than from either of those.

Bonus features and free spins

🎲

Dice faces, original maths

The symbol set is the only visible change. Grid, cluster rule, multiplier spots and ceiling all read as the 2022 Sugar Rush.

❌

Multiplier spots, not symbols

Multipliers attach to grid positions and double each time that position wins again. Where they land matters as much as how large they grow.

🎯

Cluster pays, five or more

Connected horizontally or vertically only. A diagonal run of five pays nothing, which catches people out.

📈

The original’s 5,000× ceiling

Held, not raised. Sugar Rush 1000 reaches 25,000× and Super Scatter 50,000× on the same grid.

🔑

High-contrast pips

Dice faces separate more cleanly at small sizes than the original’s pastel candy, which matters on a 7×7 grid.

What we like

  • 96.50% matches the original Sugar Rush exactly, and Stake’s stated 3.50% house edge corroborates it from the other side.
  • Dice pips are markedly easier to distinguish at small sizes than pastel candy on a 49-square grid.
  • The multiplier-spot mechanic is one of the better cluster designs, with a positional element most rivals lack.
  • A 5,000× ceiling is far more reachable than the 25,000× and 50,000× editions on the same maths.
  • The RTP spread here looks narrower than on Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice, where several sources quote the reduced build as the headline.
What to watch

  • It brings nothing new. This is the 2022 game with different art, and the review has to say so.
  • Lower builds at 95.50% and 94.50% are certified across this line and the casino chooses.
  • High volatility with the whole game loaded into free spins means long flat stretches.
  • The reason the Dice range exists remains undocumented across all three builds we have now reviewed.
  • The ceiling is a fifth of Sugar Rush 1000’s and a tenth of Super Scatter’s.

How Sugar Rush Dice compares

Sugar Rush 10007 × 725,000×96.53Very highYes
Sugar Rush Super Scatter7 × 750,000×96.58Very highYes

Three of the five sit at exactly 96.50% and 5,000× — the original and its two reskins. The two genuine rebuilds raise the ceiling tenfold while nudging the return up. In this family Pragmatic sells volatility rather than trading return against ceiling, which is the opposite of the Sweet Bonanza pattern.

Sugar Rush Dice RTP, volatility and max win

Sugar Rush Dice is published at more than one RTP. Stake lists a house edge of 3.50%, which is the same thing stated from the other side and corroborates the 96.50% figure.

96.50%The figure sources consistently give, matching the original Sugar Rush.
95.50% / 94.50%The lower builds Pragmatic certifies across the Sugar Rush line.

96.50% is what sources consistently give, matching the original Sugar Rush. Stake’s listed house edge of 3.50% is the same statement inverted, which is a useful corroboration — two independent presentations of the same number rather than one figure copied around.

The Sugar Rush line carries the usual Pragmatic ladder of 95.50% and 94.50% builds beneath the headline, chosen by the operator. Worth noting that the reporting here looks cleaner than on Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice, where several sources quote the reduced 95.52% build as the headline figure outright. That difference is itself informative: it suggests the lower build is more widely deployed on the Sweet Bonanza dice title than on this one.

For a sense of what 96.5% means in practice on this exact maths, a tracker logging over 11.2 million rounds of the original Sugar Rush recorded an observed 95.92%, with a largest-seen multiplier of 4,442× against the 5,000× ceiling. Eleven million spins and nobody reached the cap.

Bets, bankroll and session planning

Stakes start low and the feature buy sits on top where offered, purchasing direct entry to free spins. Since the bonus is where spot multipliers persist between spins, it is the part of the game with real value attached — and priced accordingly.

In the demo the buy costs nothing, which makes it the sensible place to find out what a bonus round typically returns before deciding whether paying for one makes sense. Most come back well under the purchase price; that is how the pricing works.

Playing on mobile

A 7×7 grid is demanding on a phone, and the dice symbols help more than they might sound. Pips are high-contrast and countable at a glance where pastel sweets blur together, and on 49 squares that is a real benefit.

The pressure point is the same as the original’s: once several multiplier spots are active, their numbers get small. Everything else scales cleanly and the controls sit within thumb reach.

Five things to know before you spin

  1. Diagonals do not count. Clusters connect horizontally and vertically only, and five on a diagonal pays nothing.
  2. Watch position, not just size. A 64× spot in a corner that rarely wins is worth less than two 8× spots in the middle of the grid.
  3. The bonus is the game. Spot multipliers persisting between free spins is the only route to the ceiling. The base game is a search for scatters.
  4. Check the RTP build. 95.50% and 94.50% builds are certified across this line and nothing in the lobby identifies which you are on.
  5. Do not expect the dice to change anything. Every source describes the maths as the original’s. Play both demos side by side if you want to confirm it.

Who this slot is for

For players who like the Sugar Rush grid and prefer the dice presentation, or who are at a casino carrying this build rather than the candy one. The mechanic is excellent, the top RTP is solid, and 5,000× is a far more plausible target than the inflated editions.

Not for anyone expecting a new game. This is a reskin of a 2022 slot, and it is a good one because that slot was good.

Sugar Rush Dice demo and slot FAQ

Can I play the Sugar Rush Dice demo for free?
Yes — the demo above is the full game on play money, with no account and no deposit. Demo credits have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.
Is Sugar Rush Dice different from Sugar Rush?
Visually, yes — dice faces replace the candy. Mechanically the sources describe the same 7×7 cluster grid, the same multiplier spots, the same 96.5% top RTP and the same 5,000× ceiling.
Why do the Dice versions exist?
The common explanation is that they serve the Belgian market, where dice iconography places a game in a different licence category. We could not verify that from an authoritative source across any of the three dice builds we have reviewed.
What is the RTP?
96.50% on the top build, corroborated by Stake’s stated 3.50% house edge. Lower builds at 95.50% and 94.50% are certified across this line, so check the info panel.
What is the maximum win?
5,000× your total bet — the original’s ceiling. Sugar Rush 1000 reaches 25,000× and Super Scatter 50,000×.
How do the multiplier spots work?
Each grid position that forms part of a winning cluster gains a multiplier from 2×, doubling each time that position wins again. They attach to positions rather than symbols and carry over between free spins.
When was it released?
One listing gives 8 July 2024, and our catalogue first saw it on 7 July 2024 — agreeing to within a day.

Our verdict on Sugar Rush Dice

8.2/ 10

A very good grid with different pips, and a cleaner RTP story than its Sweet Bonanza cousin

Sugar Rush Dice is the 2022 original with dice faces, and the honest review leads with that. The 7×7 grid, the cluster rule, the position-locked multiplier spots and the 5,000× ceiling all carry across, and the top RTP is identical.

It scores well because the underlying game deserves it. Multiplier spots that attach to positions rather than symbols give this grid a strategic texture most cluster slots lack, and free spins carrying those spots over makes the bonus feel like something being built rather than simply paid out. The dice pips are a real, if unglamorous, improvement on a 49-square board.

One comparison worth drawing. On Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice, several independent sources quote the reduced 95.52% build as the headline figure, which strongly suggests it is widely deployed. Here the reporting is consistent at 96.50% and Stake’s 3.50% house edge corroborates it. That does not guarantee the casino you pick is running the top build — always check — but the evidence is noticeably cleaner on this title than on its Sweet Bonanza counterpart.
