Sugar Rush 1000 slot by Pragmatic Play — game artwork

The Sugar Rush 1000 demo is the free, no-signup version of Pragmatic Play’s March 2024 release — a 7×7 cluster board where multipliers are welded to grid positions rather than to symbols. It runs 96.53% RTP, a ceiling of 25,000× and a hit frequency of 1 in 2.9 spins. The number that defines it is the multiplier cap: x1,024 per position, eight times the original Sugar Rush.

The Sugar Rush 1000 demo runs the real game on play money: the same 7×7 grid, the same doubling positions, the same free spins rules. No download, no account, no deposit.

This game rewards demoing more than most, because its central mechanic is counter-intuitive. Multipliers belong to squares, not symbols, and they only grow when the same square wins again. Watching that happen a few hundred times teaches you something no paytable screenshot can.

Top line pay25,000× total betFive times the original Sugar Rush, which caps at 5,000×. The extra comes from the multiplier cap moving from 128× to x1,024 per position.
JackpotNoneNo jackpot, fixed or progressive. Everything comes from the cluster paytable and the position multipliers.

How the game plays

The board is seven reels by seven rows, 49 positions, with no paylines. A win is five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically.

When a cluster wins, those grid positions are highlighted. If a second win later lands on the same highlighted position, a multiplier attaches there starting at 2×. Every further win on that square doubles it — 2, 4, 8, 16 and on up to a maximum of x1,024.

If more than one multiplier is part of the same win, they add together rather than multiplying. That is the rule most people get wrong.

The story behind the game

Sugar Rush arrived in 2022 and did something genuinely novel: it tied multipliers to the board rather than the symbols, so the grid itself developed a memory within a round. It was a hit, and it capped at 128× per position and 5,000× overall.

Sugar Rush 1000 landed in March 2024 with the same idea and the cap moved to x1,024 — eight times higher — taking the ceiling to 25,000×. The 1000 in the name refers to that multiplier cap, not to the maximum win.

Symbols and paytable

Cluster pays on a sweet-shop board, with the multiplier positions doing the real work.

Cluster winsFive or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically. Diagonals do not count.
TumblesWinning symbols explode and new ones drop in. The chain continues until no new cluster forms.
Highlighted positionsAny square that has been part of a win is marked. Nothing happens on the first win — the mark is the setup.
Multiplier spotsA second win on a marked square attaches a 2× multiplier there.
DoublingEvery subsequent win on that square doubles it: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and upward.
Maximum per positionx1,024, eight times the original Sugar Rush’s 128×.
Multipliers addTwo or more multipliers in the same win are added, not multiplied together.
Free spins3 to 7 scatters award 10 to 30 free spins. Multipliers persist for the whole round.

In the base game multipliers clear when the tumbles stop. In free spins they stay for the entire round — that difference is the whole game.

Bonus features and free spins

🍬

Multipliers belong to squares

Not to symbols, not to spins. A grid position that wins twice earns a 2× multiplier, and every further win there doubles it. The board develops a memory, and your job is to feed the same squares.

➕

Multipliers add, they do not multiply

If a win covers a 16× square and a 32× square, the win is multiplied by 48, not by 512. This single rule is the difference between a realistic expectation and a fantasy one.

🔀

Free spins keep everything

Three to seven scatters award ten to thirty free spins, and the multipliers you build persist across the entire round rather than clearing between spins. This is where every large win in the game comes from.

🚀

The x1,024 cap

A single position can reach x1,024 — ten doublings. It takes eleven separate wins on the same square to get there, which is why it is the ceiling rather than the expectation.

⏱

A win every 2.9 spins

Hit frequency is 1 in 2.9, which is very high. Free spins, by contrast, are 1 in 323. The base game pays constantly and small; the feature is where the money lives.

What we like

  • A hit frequency of 1 in 2.9 is exceptional — the base game is almost never silent for long.
  • The position-multiplier mechanic is genuinely original and still, four years on, not really copied properly by anyone.
  • A 97.50% certified build exists, which is a remarkably high ceiling for a Pragmatic game if your casino runs it.
  • Free spins keeping multipliers for the whole round turns a slow start into something still worth watching.
  • 25,000× is a real ceiling reached through an understandable mechanic, not a lottery symbol.
What to watch

  • Three builds spanning two full points — 97.50%, 96.53% and 95.50% — and the casino picks.
  • Free spins at 1 in 323 spins is rare, and almost everything the game is famous for happens inside them.
  • The adding rule disappoints people who assume multipliers compound. It is the single most misunderstood thing about this game.
  • Very high volatility with a 1 in 2.9 hit rate is a strange combination in practice: constant small wins that still drain a balance.
  • Pragmatic publishes no max-win probability, so there is no honest way to say how remote 25,000× is.

Sugar Rush 1000 and Gates of Olympus 2500 arrive at the same 25,000× ceiling by completely different routes — one by doubling a square eleven times, the other by dropping a single enormous orb. The first is earned across a round; the second is handed to you.

Sugar Rush 1000 RTP, volatility and max win

Sugar Rush 1000 is published at more than one RTP. Three certified builds spanning two full percentage points, and the casino chooses. The 97.50% version is worth knowing about because it is genuinely rare — very few Pragmatic games ship a build that high. The reels, the multiplier cap and the 25,000× ceiling are identical across all three.

97.50%The top certified build, and an unusually high one for Pragmatic.
96.53%The standard build, and the figure most reviews quote.
95.50%The lowest build in circulation, two points below the top.

96.53% is the standard build and the figure most reviews print. BigWinBoard records three configurations: 97.50%, 96.53% and 95.50%. Two full points separate them, and the casino chooses.

The 97.50% build deserves a mention because it is genuinely unusual — very few Pragmatic titles ship a version that high, and it would make this one of the better-returning games in the catalogue. The information screen inside the game is the only place your build is written down.

Bets, bankroll and session planning

Stakes run from £0.20 upward, with BigWinBoard recording a maximum of £240 a spin. On a very high volatility board with free spins at 1 in 323, the upper end is a lot of exposure between features.

Playing on mobile

Forty-nine positions on a phone screen is the test, and the multiplier numbers are the thing that has to stay readable. Pragmatic prints them large enough, and the highlighted squares are colour-coded clearly enough, that you can follow a round without squinting. The free-spins multiplier map is legible, which is what matters.

Five things to know before you spin

  1. Remember that multipliers add, they do not compound. A win across a 16× square and a 32× square is multiplied by 48, not 512. Expect compounding and every round will disappoint you.
  2. Check for the 97.50% build. Three versions exist — 97.50%, 96.53% and 95.50%. The top one is unusually high for a Pragmatic game and genuinely worth seeking out.
  3. In free spins, follow the squares. A 64× position that keeps winning is worth more than three fresh clusters elsewhere, because the multipliers persist for the whole round.
  4. Budget for 1 in 323. That is the free spins frequency, and almost everything the game is known for happens inside them. The base game pays constantly and small.
  5. Know what the 1000 refers to. It is the x1,024 cap per position, not the maximum win. The maximum win is 25,000×.

Sugar Rush 1000 demo and slot FAQ

Can I play the Sugar Rush 1000 demo for free?
Yes — the demo above is the full game on play money, with no account and no deposit. Same 7×7 grid, same multiplier spots, same free spins rules. Demo credits have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.
What is the RTP of Sugar Rush 1000?
96.53% on the standard build. BigWinBoard records three configurations: 97.50%, 96.53% and 95.50%. The casino chooses which runs — check the game’s information screen.
What is the maximum win?
25,000× your total bet — five times the original Sugar Rush, because the per-position multiplier cap moved from 128× to x1,024.
How do the multipliers work?
They attach to grid positions, not symbols. A square that wins twice gets a 2× multiplier, and each further win there doubles it up to x1,024. Multipliers in the same win are added together, not multiplied.
How often do free spins trigger?
About 1 in 323 spins. Three to seven scatters award ten to thirty free spins, and the multipliers you build stay for the whole round.
Does Sugar Rush 1000 pay often?
The hit frequency is 1 in 2.9 spins, which is very high. Most of those wins are small — the game is still rated very high volatility because the meaningful money is concentrated in the free spins.
What does the 1000 in the name mean?
It refers to the multiplier cap of x1,024 per position, not the maximum win. The maximum win is 25,000×.

Our verdict on Sugar Rush 1000

8.5/ 10

The best version of the best idea Pragmatic has had

Tying multipliers to the board instead of the symbols was a genuinely original piece of design in 2022, and the 1000 edition is that idea given room to breathe. Eleven wins on one square gets you to x1,024, and because free spins keep everything you build, a long round turns into something you can actually watch develop.

A hit frequency of 1 in 2.9 means the base game is rarely quiet, though it is quietly expensive — free spins at 1 in 323 is the number that actually describes the experience. And three builds spanning two points, with a rare 97.50% version among them, make it worth opening the information screen before you stake.

One correction worth carrying into the game: the multipliers add. Expect that and the game is excellent. Expect them to compound and it will disappoint you every single round.
